A twist on the traditional caprese summer salad, this easy yet elegant appetizer combines the vibrant flavors of Italy with the charm of a holiday centerpiece. Our Caprese Salad Wreath Recipe brings Italian fare full circle, inspired by the iconic caprese salad from Capri while showcasing the colors of the Italian flag. Pile up yummy grape tomatoes, tiny mozzarella balls, and the herbs and accoutrements of the Mediterranean to create a tomato mozzarella wreath. Place a small dish of balsamic glaze in the middle for dipping, and voilà!

Ingredients:

  • 16 Ounces Grape Tomato
  • 8 Ounces Ciliegine , cherry-sized fresh mozzarella balls
  • 1/4 Cup Parmesan Cheese , grated
  • 2 Tablespoons Basil Leaf , minced
  • 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 1/3 Cup Balsamic Glaze
  • Salt , to taste
  • Pepper , to taste
  • Basil Leaf , for garnish
  • Bamboo Skewers , for serving

Directions:

  1. Combine tomatoes and fresh mozzarella cheese balls in a large bowl. Add Parmesan cheese, minced basil and olive oil. Toss gently until fully combined. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Mozzarella cheese, minced basil, and tomatoes mixed in a bowl to make a wreath salad
  2. Pour balsamic glaze into a small serving bowl and place it at the center of a round serving platter. Arrange large fresh basil leaves around the edges of the platter and top with tomato mixture. Top with smaller basil leaves. Place bamboo skewers among the tomatoes and mozzarella and serve with extra bamboo skewers on the side.
